Sheffield Signs with Mets; Refuses to DH

Gary Sheffield, who signed a one-year contract with the Mets on Friday, has already announced that "under no circumstance" will he DH.

When asked if he was aware of the National League rules, he insisted, " I don't care what the rules say - I am not doing it."

Sheffield has also advised the Mets that he will not play night games, go on road trips or play against any of the other teams he has played for in the past (MIL, ATL, FL, LAD, SD). 

Finally, Sheffield has advised the media he will not talk about Barry Bonds, Jim Leyland, Paul DePodesta, Salary Dumping, Matt Mieske, the Triple Crown, Ernest Riles, or Tom Trebelhorn.

Sheffield also wanted to be clear that everything does not revolve around him.
